FICTION
An Israeli novelist and essayist living in Berlin, I write about queerness, gender, sexuality, and the complex relations between Israeli Jews and Palestinians. In Moving on from Bliss, my 2016 short story collection, characters long for a home they’re incapable of creating. My 2022 novel, The Town Below, shatters restrictive constructs of gender, sexuality, race, national identity, and other forms of “otherness.”
In my current work I aspire to explore models of non-biological kinship which undermine both national and heteronormative narratives. My fiction employs insight into my own lived experiences to shed light on essential social and geopolitical issues at the juncture of queerness, national belonging, and kinship

The Town Below
2022
In this debut full-length novel, the lives of Eliad, Ibrahim, and Miriam are inexorably drawn together by two forceful but opposing powers - passion and societal limitations. Across the years, a strong bond emerges between the three protagonists of this daring novel - a friendship and mutual appreciation that surpasses the limiting influences of gender, religion, and society. The novel shatters restrictive constructs of gender, sexuality, race, national identity, and other forms of “otherness.”
“An original and daring novel, its exceptionality evoking emotion and thought”
Omri Herzog, Haaretz

Moving on from Grace
Washington Square Review, Issue 44, Spring '20
The English translation of a story from my 2016 short story collection. This story follows a young woman estranged from her emotionally distant, austere mother. When she falls in love with Oshri, a neighbor, she finds not only romantic connection but also a new sense of home - and in Oshri’s warm, generous mother, the maternal care she never received. But the narrative unfolds in the shadow of loss: Oshri has died in a car accident, and the story becomes an elegy for a love abruptly taken. Through fragments of memory and quiet reflection, the narrator grapples with grief, longing, and the fragile forms of family we create for ourselves.

Flash Flood

Frankly Feminist: Short Stories by Jewish Women from Lilith Magazine
The English translation of a story from my 2016 short story collection. This poignant tale centers on a family's final trip to Eilat, in southern Israel, before the mother’s impending death from illness. At its heart is Lily, the mother, quietly contemplating suicide as she confronts the limits of her suffering and autonomy. Her husband, burdened by helplessness, tries to preserve a sense of normalcy and protect their daughters from the truth. Meanwhile, the daughters — now grown — look back on this sun-drenched, sorrow-tinged vacation, trying to piece together what they knew then and what they understand now.
